This guide is for Lotro Blade of Renown quest level 15 - Champions only

When you hit level 15 as a champion you receive the quest Blade of Renown from any of the Champion trainers in Middle Earth. This gives you a great trait, Vicious Strikes, and the Guardian’s Axe, a nice one-handed axe. Not coincidentally, Vicious Strikes comes just as your first Class Trait slot opens. So if you haven’t earned a class trait through any deeds, this trait will fit nicely there.

After accepting the quest from your champion trainer you must speak with Ultan Foebane. He’s the weird dwarf hanging out in a cart right outside the Combe Gate on the east side of Bree. He tasks you to defeat three enemies: Zhurpukh of the Deeps, Fair Sherman and Morley the Fierce. To help, he gives you a note that describes the locations of each.

Even though the note is fairly descriptive, these guys can be a real pain to find unless you know where you’re looking:

Zhurpukh roams along the eastern boundary of the Midgewater Marsh .

Fair Sherman is hiding out in the ruins of Andrath .

Morley the Fierce is hiding amongst the ruins of the Old Greenway Fort located northeast of Bree .

None of the guys are especially difficult. I did the quest at level 17 and breezed through them.

Hope you can get some help from this guide and make more lotro golds!

When you are playin Lord Of Rings Online ,Do you want to play well a champion in LOTRO ? Ok, this is just a brief guide for your reference , wish you like …

Fervour? ok lets start with that, a great toggle skill but also the bane of a badly played champ! dismissing all block/parry/evade chances in exchange for heavier damage and power regen. Personally I only have it turned off when acting as tank in liue of a guardian when in fellowships. When I’m out soloing I always have it on, why? because of that damage and power bonus! Kill it before it kills me !

So we have no parry evade or block if we use fervour! What can us champs do? Well, there’s a funky skill, commonly overlooked by higher level champs, Exchange of Blows is always the second button I press! the first being to ramp up the fervour for the first attack. Exchange of blows, although only doing little bits of damage per attack recieved, is damage…its what I call “a champions block/evade/parry” hah.

Ok thats fervour covered, now what about weapons? (Note : You can use your LOTRO Gold for some powerful weapons )

Always use weapons that your race gets a bonus with via traits. Personally I like swords anyway so i am bias in that regard. Use 2 handed swords/axes for when in a fellowship and you are the damage dealer, and dual wield when you are soloing, ofcourse sometimes its more viable to use the other way around depending on what the weapon stats are.

Bows, great for pulling when you’re on your own, and for any additonal bonuses that bow might have! However, always unequip it when you are in a fellowship doing elites etc. because you will get pauses when fighting/moving where you are just out of melee range! NOT GOOD!

Ok now the triky one - Shields, I personally have always carried a shield just incase I need to cut and run, I do not have the heavy shield trait equipped, it is a wast of a trait slot in my opinion, however I do keep a crit\’ed high end shield on me for those moments where you really do need to get that boost of armour and run like the clappers. i really do not think that a champion should sacrifice dual wield or 2handed for no reason, I class a shield as my extra Sudden Defence. Adding block while I run from the big nasty trolls

Hope this guide would give you some help !

In Lotro, there are various aspects to fighting and combat worth being aware of.Now I will introduce a guide to using skills in combat.please read up.

Many skills such as special attacks, healing spells and other active abilities are activated in combat by simply pressing the associated hotkey.

These skills work the same in combat as out of combat.

Some combat skills are reactive - they require a certain combat event (e.g. a block, parry or evade) to occur before they can be used.

These skills are normally colored grey when the player is not in combat, and remain grey until the necessary enabling condition occurs. In general, if the hotkey icon is colored, it can be used, and if it’s grey,

it cannot because the necessary condition has not been met. The tooltip for the skill will indicate in red which condition has not been met for a grey icon.

An indication of a red target in the upper left corner of the skill icon indicates the that the skill has a range limit (usually determined by weapon type) and that the currently selected target is out of range for this skill to be activated.

Most skills have a reuse timer, or cooldown.

This timer is activated when the skill is used, and the skill may not be used again until its cooldown expires.

Hope this guide can help you make much more lotro golds for your charcter!

Conjunctions are a special mechanic in Lotro that arise when in a group of two or more players. They can do anything from massively damage a single enemy to restoring both your morale and power to full. How to initiate conjunctions? Please read the following.

One of the primary roles of the Burglar class in LOTRO is to set initiate conjunctions. Groups without burglars may perform conjunctions as well, but theirs will be less frequent.
Burglars can set up conjunctions as early as level 12 with the skill “Exploit Opening” which is on a 5 minute cooldown. At level 28 they gain an additional conjunction starter called “Trip” which must be used from stealth and is also on a separate 5 minute cooldown. Burglars may also use items called marbles to set up a conjunction, they are on a 10 minute cooldown. Finally the legendary trait “Exposed Throat” will open up a conjunction. “Exposed Throat” is gained after acquiring the “Legendary Book: The Experts Guide To Dirty Fighting” and then 8 pages scattered around the world, Angmar, Misty Mountains, and the Trollshaws.
Some skills do not guarantee a conjunction, but support the induction of one meaning there is a chance for a conjunction to occur. Some of these skills are:
Counter Defense: Negates block/parry/evade on mob.
Riddle: While a mob is in the ‘Riddled’ state they are still open to a induction.
Startling Twist: Again while in the stunned state the mobs block/parry/evade is disabled.
Stun Dust: Stuns the mob opening it up for a conjunction.
The probability of beginning a conjunction is affected by your fellowship’s level relative to the monster’s level.

Hope this can help you making more Lotro Gold !

This is just a guide for new players of Lord of the Ring , anyone want to stsrt this game you can read the following information as a first , hope helpful !

Is there any form of PvP in LotRO?

There sure is. But it’s different from what you might expect. Being that the notion of elves mass killing hobbits was distinctly un-Tolkien, Turbine has created Monster Play for players to help them free the beast within.

What is Monster Play?

Monster play, or PvMP, is Player versus Monster Player. What that means is instead of hobbits and elves fighting it out among themselves, a system has been created that lets players take temporary control of “monsters” and fight the higher level regular player characters of LotRO.

Great, so now instead of worrying about an elf killing my hobbit, I have to worry about roving bands of Monter Players?
Not at all! The PvMP system is 100% consensual in nature for just that very reason. Anyone who does not wish to partake in the PvMP never has to, not even for a second. The ongoing battle takes place in the isolated world area of the Ettenmoors, and you won’t find yourself accidentally stumbling into the area either. It’s only accessible through talking with specific NPCs.

Hmm… okay, I’m intrigued. Tell me more about PvMP.
Well let’s give you a run-down of its features, and we’ll go from there.
- The Ettenmoors is a large, fully-developed region, about the same size as the Shire.
- Players on each side start in a “no-kill zone”. You won’t be thrown into the Ettenmoors, and immediately waylaid by opponents.
- The objectives that either side must strive to attain are defeating the enemy in combat, completing PvE and PvP driven quests, and of course, maintaining your sides hold on several Keeps and Towers.
- There are five monster classes to choose from when creating a Monster to patrol the Ettenmoors with.

What classes are available for creating a monster?

The five “classes” of monsters are as follows:

The Uruk Warleader – The main tank of the Monster side, this hefty orc is directly intended to be the leader in groups. With powerful in combat and out of combat buffs, as well as the ability to heal and do moderate damage per second, the Warleader is sort of a jack of all trades.

The Orc Reaver – The Champion class for Monsters, the Orc Reaver is your most essential damage doer. Also with the ability to de-buff, interrupt skills, and do some tanking, he’s a crafty foe not to be taken for granted.

The Uruk Blackarrow – And expert Uruk orc Archer, this class is a ranged damage dealer with some crowd control abilities, and a sprinkling of area of effect damage dealing.

The Warg Stalker – A stealthy canine abomination of the Dark Lord’s army. These pups are proficient in doing high burst damage, they can serve as a tank in some pinches, and are capable of interrupting opposing players spells and skills.

The Spider Weaver – Similar to the spiders often found giving travelers trouble across Eriador, these little 8-legged freaks are efficient at crowd control, damage over time, some light damage dealing, and even some ambush attacks. It should be noted that you can’t have alts of your monster characters. You can play one of each class though, and their names are permanent upon creations. So choose wisely.

How do I play as a monster in the Ettenmoors?

Making a monster character or “creep” as they are so lovingly called is easy!
Start off by leveling a regular player aka “freep” to level 10, once you have done that, monster play is simple! Before log in to your freep,
you will see in your character window a red bar labeled “Monster Play”. Once entered on that side, you will have a choice of several
different types of Monster Players to chose from!

Can I level my monster and make him stronger over time, like a normal character?

Yes and no. Your monsters will start as level 50 regardless of what level you first step into its skin. They’re not on par statistically or skill-wise with a level 50 player, but more so like a mob that a player would be fighting at that level.

This was done because Turbine anticipates at all times there being more monsters than players (who must be upper-level to play in PvMP) and therefore the fighting field should be level. Monsters can grow in strength though, through the acquisition of Infamy and Destiny Points.

What are Infamy and Destiny Points?

Sort of like experience for monster players, these can grant or enable things like additional skills, improvements to current skills, bonuses to the monster’s Morale, regenerations rates, armor mitigation, and so on. Players can also gain additional appearances to change the look of their monsters over time via the Infamy system.

I heard talk about maps… where do I get these?

Glad you asked! One of the most important things to have out in the ‘Moors are your maps. There are a total of 15 maps you can get on the Creep side. 3 maps for each Keep:

*Lugazag
*Tol Ascarnen
*Tirith Rhaw
*Isendeep
*Grimwood Lumber Camp

Each map can be obtained by doing quests for each keep. Starting, you need 10 quests to obtain your Crude map to the Keep, followed by 25 quests for your Poor map to that keep, then finally 50 quests total for your Good Map. The Crude and Poor maps all share the same timer, so if you use your Crude Grimwood Map, the timers for the rest of your Maps will start the cooldown also. The only maps that do not share a cooldown are the Good Maps, they are all on a seperate timer.

There is also a Gramsfoot Map you can obtain by “scounting” out the different keeps or (depending on the keep) talking to one of the NPC’s there. this you have to do without dying so make sure you steer clear of the fighting!

Okay, now I know how to be a monster, but how do I play my main character in the Ettenmoors?Glad you asked! Of course, you’ll first need to level your character to level 40 though, as that’s the lowest level you can enter the Ettenmoors as. It’s probably a better idea to level him or her a bit higher though, as everything in the zone is geared towards top level players. Once you’ve done this, here’s what you’ll need to do:
- Travel to Rivendell by any means possible
- Find the Horse Stables in the Western section of the area (known as Elrond’s Stables).
- Right click on Stablemaster Remros then select Ettenmoors and click the “Go!” button. You’ll be taken to the Ettenmoors, where you can begin your quest to rid the area of Sauron’s forces. The objectives for the player character side of things are similar to the monster side. Kill the monsters, complete the quests scattered across the zone, and attain and keep control over the keeps and towers in the area. Doing all of these things will reward your player with Destiny Points.

What can my character do with Destiny Points?

Destiny Points are earned for the player by completing quests and generally waging war with the Monster Players in Ettenmoors. They can be used for special buffs and traits for your character as well as “per-session” buffs upon entering the Ettenmoors.

Will my weapons and armor take damage when I die in PvMP?

Your character’s items will not take damage when he or she is killed by a Monster Player. It is important to note however, that they will take damage if you are killed off by one of the many mobs patrolling the area. But worry not, for no matter who defeats you, revenge is only a few minutes away. You simply need to “rez” at a nearby respawn point and head back into the fray.

What about player character rewards, like items and other things of that nature?

Oh, they’re available. Destiny points and general partaking in Monster Play will help you acquire the necessary things needed for acquiring such rewards. I’ll leave it up to you to find out just what is available for your acquisition. Here’s a pick of some of the perks available, just to wet your whistle…

Is there anything else I need to know, before I go smiting the evil (or the good) of Middle-Earth?

Just remember to travel in packs, be you on the bad or the good side. A solo-player will likely be eaten up in the Ettenmoors, as most players go with the mob mentality when indulging in PvP. Secondly, remember that defeat is not permanent. If you fall in battle, all you need to do is run back to the fight, and give it another shot. No shame in being beaten. And lastly, remember to have fun. That’s what the game is about. Friendly competition, with the added perks of rewards from all your bloodshed.

Hope this guide can help the Beginner who play Lord of Rings online can made lots of lotro golds ,or you can go to our website to buy some lotro golds and lotro powerleveling to help your level get high!

Do you konw which are the available classes in LOTRO ? The following are just the detail description about them . read it if you are intersted …

Burglar (Debuffs, Stealth)

1) Burglars are masters of stealth and misdirection. They are able to confound their foes with a variety of clever and debilitating tricks. Burglars’ sleight-of-hand and startling attacks allow their companions to overwhelm adversaries.
2) This class is available to the Man and Hobbit races.
3) Primary function: The Burglar’s role is to rob monsters of the ability to deal damage and attack at full strength. As the only class that can reliably initiate fellowship manoeuvres (high-yield group-based attacks), its role in groups is a coveted one.
4) Choose this class if: you enjoy playing a sneaky character who relies on surprise and cunning rather than armor and brute strength.

Captain (Buffs, Ressurect, Pet)

1) Captains are masterful leaders whose commanding presence strengthens allies. Their battle cries strike fear into the hearts of enemies and rally companions to their war banners.
2) This class is available to the Man race.
3) Primary function: The armoured Captain posseses some of the most potent enhancements to the heroes of Middle-earth, this makes the Captain a key member of any fellowship. The Captain’s ability to summon a Herald pet at later levels, plus the ability to bring fallen heroes back into the fight, make it a desired group class.
4) Choose this class if: you like classes that can buff and heal yet do damage as well. Captains use two-handed weapons more than other classes.

Champion (DPS)

1) Unrelenting in battle, Champions are consummate warriors. Their fervour allows them to make increasingly powerful attacks. Champions excel at melee combat and can absorb punishment with their heavy armour.
2) This class is available to the Dwarf, Elf, and Man races.
3) Primary function: The Champion trades survivability for the ability to deal explosive amounts of damage to multiple foes. Although a fully armoured class when not in fervour mode, it is when Champions enter this state that they deals out the greatest damage, both to single and multiple foes.
4) Choose this class if: you like to damage your opponents quickly and overwhelmingly. Offense is the best defense would be a motto of a Champion. A Champion’s primary fighting style is with two melee weapons.

Guardian (Tank)

1) The Guardians are protectors of the weak and defenders of those in need. They are capable of withstanding mighty blows and retaliating in kind. True Guardians stand to the forefront of battle, shielding their allies from enemy assaults.
2) Available to the Dwarf, Elf, Hobbit, and Man races
3) Primary function: The Guardian’s ability to wear heavy armour and defensive skills enable the Guardian to face creatures that would make other heroes’ morale fail. Guardians also have the ability to draw foes’ attention away from their allies and to themselves.
4) Choose this class if: you want to rely on huge amounts of armor and muscle to outlast your opponent in a fight. Guardians are the class that makes the most use of shields.

Hunter (Nuker)

1) Hunters are masters of field and forest, unmatched in their dexterity with the bow. They use their survival skills to guide companions and lay traps for enemies. Hunters are at their strongest when attacking from a distance, but are able to defend themselves in melee combat when the need arises.
2) Available to the Dwarf, Elf, Hobbit, and Man races.
3) Primary function: The Hunter is proficient at dealing out good damage to single foes at both range and melee. When Hunters are at range, they can unleash devastating arrow shots that do high damage to single targets. When the lone enemy finally manages to close into melee range, the Hunter is well-equipped to deal the finishing blow with some melee skills.
4) Choose this class if: you are the type of player who like to hang back and do massive amounts of ranged damage to a single target. It goes without saying that the Hunter’s primary weapon is their bow.

Lore-master (Crowd Control, Pet)

1) Lore-masters are seekers of knowledge and the guardians of wisdom. Their knowledge of ancient lore allows them to confuse and stun foes, as well as protect against the dark powers of the Enemy. Lore-masters are also capable of calling animals to their aid.
2) Available to the Elf and Man races.
3) Primary function: Lore-masters are the unparalleled masters of crowd-control, with the ability to trap creatures and keep them from hurting their allies. They have many skills that invoke the natural world of Middle-earth but it is draining on the will thus costing them morale to fuel some of these powerful skills. Because of this, they must rely on their pets to supplement their ability to take damage.
4) Choose this class if: you enjoy casting spells both to damage and confuse your enemies. Lore-Masters primary weapons are their magic and their animal companions.

Minstrel (Healer, Buffs)

1) Minstrels are skilled at maintaining their companions’ morale and stirring their hearts to perform greater feats of prowess. They ward against the forces of darkness and inspire their allies using their knowledge of ancient songs and lore.
2) Available to the Dwarf, Elf, Hobbit, and Man races.
3) Primary function: A master at surviving and keeping it’s friends alive in Middle-Earth. Also able to deal damage on the battlefield with light based attacks and various musical songs of power.
4) Choose this class if: you like to be the healer and also provide some enhancements to your group. The Minstrel’s primary weapons are their songs which they use to damage enemies.

Warden (Tank) You must have Mines of Moria to play this class.

1) The Warden patrols the borders of civilized lands, preventing the encroachment of Fell Creatures from the Wild. While some Wardens prefer to harass their enemies from range, all are capable of standing toe to toe with the toughest opponents.
2) Available to Hobbit, Elf and Man races.
3) Wardens are limited to medium armor so that they can travel swiftly and silently to defend those they protect from threats. Wardens depend on their Determination for protection rather than heavy shields and armor. Wardens all have some military training and have mastered a style of combat that uses combinations of basic attacks to create masterful Gambits.
4) Choose this class if: you not only like to tank in groups, but enjoy a challenge and are looking for an interesting experience outside of normal group dynamics.

Rune Keeper (Healer, Nuker) You must have Mines of Moria to play this class.

1) Rune-keepers are gifted linguists and masters of true names. With this knowledge, they craft powerful rune-words that help the Free Peoples. Through unparalleled mastery of certh and tengwar runes, a Rune-keeper evokes much more than a normal scribe.
2) Available to Elf and Dwarf races.
3) The Rune-keeper is powerful, but must choose between damage and healing. the Attunement a Rune-keeper is at determines if damaging Dagor (Battle) skills or restorative Nestad (Healing) skills can be used. At all times, the utility skills of Thalas (Steady) may be used, but will reduce your Attunement. Rune Keepers wear only light armor.
4) Choose this class if: you enjoy the flexibility in changing between being a primary healer or ranged DPS. While you can change your attunement between damage and healing rather quickly, you will not really be able to do both at the same time.

Hope this guide can help you know more about Lotro then you can make much more Lotro golds and good lotro powerleveling!

When you are playing Lord of Ring online ,do you want to know how to become a shire brewmaster. this is a guide for you ,Wish you would like it .

Shire Brewmaster

The focus of this guide is in getting the Shire Brewmaster title. This makes you an expert in the beers and ales of the Shire. After all, any self-respecting Hobbit washes down his food with good ale. This title isn’t common as say, The Wary, so getting it would be a great idea. If you’re bored of pursuing Bane of the Barrows and killing Wights for a living, what are you waiting for? This uncommon title comes at a price—you’ll have to scour the Shire because it’s not that easy to get.

And how do you get this “kinda” rare title? You have to complete the five bartender quests that are available in the Shire’s five taverns.

The Bird and Baby

This pub is located in Michel Delving, one of the Shire’s subzones. Michel Delving is located in the southwest corner of the Shire. Just enter the pub and look for Carlo Blagrove the innkeeper. Blagrove will ask you to look for a recipe in the Great Smials, the ancestral home of the Took family in Tuckborough. Just where is Tuckborough? It’s on the east of Michel Delving.

The recipe you’re looking for is placed on a shelf in the library of the Great Smials. Once you’ve found the recipe, run back to Michel Delving and talk to Carlo Blagrove once more. You’ll get 90cp and Blagrove’s Brown, a type of beer. Get used to the liquor—you’ll get more as you finish the rest of the quests. After all, you are working towards the Shire Brewmaster title.

The Green Dragon

If you’re pursuing the Shire Brewmaster title seriously, then you should also run to The Green Dragon pub in Bywater. To get to Bywater, just go down the road that heads south in Hobbiton. Head inside the watering hole and look for Barmy Rootknot, the assistant innkeeper. Rootknot will send you on a quest to look for a lost brandy barrel (they call it the Dwarf-Barrel).

Where can it be found? It’s quite a trip, so begin traveling north through Hobbiton. The barrel is found in Lob’s Grove, which is northwest of Overhill and beyond Bindbole Wood. Yes, it’s that far. Just be careful of arachnids (like Bindbole Spinners and Weavers) and bears (like Big Black Bear and Foraging Wood Bear) that you’ll likely run into in Bindbole Wood. Enemy levels in this area range from 8-10.

The barrel is at the base of a pillar in Lob’s Grove, so keep your eyes peeled. After getting the barrel, head back to Bywater and end the quest by speaking to Barmy Rootknot. You’ll get 90cp and Green Dragon’s Breath Ale for your time.

The Floating Log

Frogmorton is a town located between Bywater and Budgeford. If you want to find The Floating Log, you have to travel to Frogmorton. When you do end up in Frogmorton, enter The Floating Log and look for Ponto Hopsbloom, its innkeeper. You see, Hopsbloom is entering the Four Farthings Brewing-moot, that contest that every innkeeper in the Shire seems to be joining. Hopsbloom will ask you to pick a dozen Frog Hops for his brew.

What are Frog Hops? They’re white flowers that grow in the marsh just north of Frogmorton. The travel involved is very light compared to the other quests, but beware of some level 9 Angry Hill Toads that could make life more difficult for you as you pick flowers. Run back to Hopsbloom when you have all 12 Frog Hops and you’ll be rewarded with 90cp and Toad’s Tongue Ale.

The Plough and Stars

So you’re more than halfway through the finished quests necessary to get the Brewmaster title. It’s time to run to Brockenborings, the town north of Frogmorton and west of Scary, an oddly-named town. Brockenborings is home to The Plough and Stars, one of the five taverns in the Shire. Your contact? Halson Tubwort, the innkeeper behind the bar.

Tubwort uses powdered gypsum as the secret ingredient of his ale, but his order hasn’t arrived. He wants you to run to Scary and look for Wilcome Tunnely to find out what happened. When you do get to Scary and find Tunnely, you’ll discover that the gypsum shipment was ambushed by goblins from north of Brockenborings.

So run to the north you must, and all the way into Greenfields. You’ll eventually find a goblin camp that you can choose to fight individually, or you can just look for the cart and get the gypsum. Either way, run back to Brockenborings when you’re done. You’ll be rewarded with 90cp and Wooly-Foot Stout, a strange type of beer that you can eat with a knife and fork.

The Golden Perch

Finally, the last of the five quests. You’ll have to visit Stock and find The Golden Perch to earn the Brewmaster title. Stock is at the southeastern part of the Shire. Enter the last tavern and look for Gunderic Grubb. The quest is perhaps the toughest of the five, so make sure you’re well above level 10 when you attempt to finish it.

Grubb is waiting for a package of yeast being transported via a wagon, but it never arrived. Brigands from west of the Marish hijacked the wagon and you have to get it back. The brigand camp is named Narrowcleeve, and it’s in the hills south of Woodhall. To get a better idea of where it’s located, look at the Shire map and find the name “Green Hill Country.” The yeast package is somewhere under the letters “UN” in the word “Country.”

Narrowcleeve is the second brigand camp, and it’s up by the waterfall. You’ll probably run into Half-Orc Trappers so be careful. Things won’t be so easy because spawning is pretty fast within the camp—you must move fast. The Old Yeast is next to a level-11 brigand boss, so unless you’re a Burglar who can hide from foes, you’ll be in for a fight.

Hope this guide can give you a big help at earn Lotro golds and Lotro powerleveling!

When you are playing Lotro ,all you want to get the high level with the least time,,so here I will introduce a leveling 1-20 in 15 hours. If you are interested in it,you should read it up.You still have to do these quests to gain the experience, but by lotro power leveling past them, you can get to the parts of Lord of the Rings Online you want to play quickly.Hopeful the article can help you.I’m sure you will learn something.

Quest Synergy
Synergy (as it relates to quests in LOTRO) involves multiplying the effectiveness of your time spent questing to increase the amount of experience gained during that time. Basically, you complete multiple quests at the same while questing. To do this, you need to find an area which has several quests, and make sure these quests all are related.

A great example of an area like this is Annunlos in the Lone Lands. There are several quests involving killing goblins, getting items from goblins, killing wolves, getting items from orcs, and so on. You can easily complete all these quests in an area very close to the Forsaken Inn in the Lone Lands. Doing this you can earn almost a level and a half in a short time.

The Barrow Downs, the Eastern Bree-Fields, and Combe (the Chetwood) all have groups of quests with good synergy.

Runner Quests
Runner quests have you going to a place to speak to someone, or in the Shire, delivering pies or mail. The thing about runner quests that make them good for power leveling is the lack of fighting involved, and how quest experience is derived. Quests grant experience based upon the location that you travel to when doing them, with the exception of the Chicken Quests, which are a bird of a different color. Because you can often get these quests several levels below the level of the quest, and because the experience is based upon the place you are being asked to travel to, you can get a fair amount of experience doing these quests.

Some good examples of runner quests are “Bree-Town to Trestlebridge” and “Trestlebridge to Ost Guruth” Both of these quests are level 20, and can be received at level 16. You can easily get a few thousand experience points just by running to these two areas. Certainly the Lone Lands and Northern Bree-Fields are dangerous areas to travel through, but just a little caution can make these quests easily doable, since no fighting is necessary.

Effective Fellowships
Certain quests are difficult when done by a solo adventurer, but are easy in a well balanced and effective fellowship. However, fellowships can be a mixed bag of benefits and detractions, and to power level with a fellowship, you need to understand these issues and judge when to join a fellowship to gain experience quickly.

First and foremost, fellowships travel more slowly than solo players. There are necessary delays that come with large groups of people working together. The only time you should join a fellowship (assuming the goal is lotro power leveling, there are many other benefits that otherwise you might consider), you should make sure that you will benefit enough from the experience you will gain to make it worth it.

The size of a fellowship is important as a factor when you are considering whether to create or join one. Many quests just don’t need a large group to be completed, and are better completed with a duo or trio of adventurers. For example, the “Rangers and Rogues” quests received from Saeradan (north of Bree) and the “Sword for Life” quests (from Bree-Town), both bring you in conflict with groups of 3 to 5 brigands at a time. This requires only a single companion (and is another example of quest synergy by the way). A smaller fellowship is faster traveling than a large fellowship, simply because there are less people who might cause delays while doing things.

Fellowships have a value for lotro power leveling when you are doing several quests in a row. This is because part of the delays that fellowships cause are found when forming fellowships. There are still delays as you play in a fellowship, but less so once you start adventuring. Since you are not dissolving and reforming a fellowship when you do a chain of quests, you end up spending less time for the experience you would otherwise get. Book 1 (the later chapters) and several of the Great Barrow and Barrow Downs quests are chains of quests which (if done properly) can lead to a rapid gain of experience, because of having a fellowship. Note that a fellowship needs to be effective, and well balanced. A fellowship whose members do not work well together, are too low a level for a quest chain, are an albatross that no power leveler will want to deal with.

Grinding
A word with negative connotations, grinding refers to repeatedly killing the same enemies over and over for experience. Normally, I do not like grinding for experience. It provides little benefit, but most importantly, is boring.

However, there are circumstances where grinding can be worthwhile. When grinding, you need to consider your survivability in the area you are grinding in, the level of the enemies you are fighting, and the difficulty of the enemies you are fighting. If all these three factors are favorable, you can grind and quickly gain experience.

The survivability you have in an area is based upon the monsters there. Some areas have enemies more closely packed than others, and if enemies are too closely packed, you will suffer constant attack by enemies while you try to grind. Minas Eriol, located in the Lone Lands, contains many groups of goblins, who are relatively close together. You wouldn’t want to grind there, because the many respawning goblins would mob you often.

The level of the enemies you fight is important too. Your ideal area will have enemies who are 2 to 4 levels higher than you. Any higher will be too dangerous, because your ability to damage your enemies will decrease so much that you will quickly die. Any lower, and you will gain so little experience per enemy defeated that you end up gaining little benefit from your time spent.

Finally, the difficulty of the enemies you fight is a factor, and a very important one. This differs from the level of enemies, because in this case you are speaking about the actually ability you have to defeat an opponent quickly as opposed to the level of the opponent you are fighting. Certain creatures have a low number of hit points relative to their level, and when fighting opponents of lower level, die fairly quickly. Bats, Crebain and especially swarms of flies will go down quickly when fighting a character of a few levels lower. However, because of the bonus experience you get from fighting someone of a higher level, you can end up with a fair amount of experience.

If you wish to see this in action, go to the Lone Lands at level 15 or

16 and head to the Weather Hills. The Crebain there are easy to kill, but will grant about 100 or more experience per kill. 10 Crabain will give you as many experience as a level 20 quest, and there are tons there. The same applies for the flies of Nen Harn (in the north east Bree-Land area). Grinding isn’t always a bad idea.

Welcome to the World of Power Leveling
Power leveling isn’t always a good idea, it can detract from your enjoyment of a game, making your games almost tedious. However, used to get past content you are well familiar with, and done with planning and good strategy, you can find that power leveling is a fun thing to do, as you watch yourself zoom past multiple levels to your level goal.

Front-line Fodder: Increases parry, block, and evasion.
Spiders

In Lotro, every one of the deed locations is achieved at the door of the towers of Barad Gularad, in NE Angmar. They form a circle around the around the ‘ar’ in Gularad. Apparently, the Nazgul used to live in these towers or something.

I’ve included the coordinates for the different destinations, but let me warn you that they are fairly useless. There’s usually only one approach to the door and it starts fairly far away.

Minas Caul: Northwest
7.8 N, 23 W
Minas Agar: West
7.3 N, 23.2 W
Minas Maur: Southwest
6.7 N, 22.9 W
Minas Angos: South
6.3 N, 22.5 W
Minas Deloth: Southeast
6.7 N, 21.9 W
Minas Gularan: East
7.1 N, 21.6 W
Minas Nir: Northeast
7.9 N, 21.8 W
Minas Dhem: North
8 N, 22.4 W

Caur is the easiest to get to. If you follow the road from Gath Forthnir, you’ll smack right into it.

Altitude-wise, they are all about halfway up the tower so you need to find a high altitude approach. Fortunately, each tower has straightforward path that leads right to the door. You just have to be at the correct high altitude spot first to be able to be able to access it.

I approached almost all of the locations by circling counter-clockwise.There is a weird, narrow mountain path you can follow that is at the right altitude and gives you access to the paths. Just stay on the outside and try to go higher, and you’ll eventually find the path. It may seem far away, but this path will put you at the correct altitude to get to the different doors.

The one exception for me was Minas Dhem, the north one. I approached that by circling clockwise from the graveyard. That does take you through an area that is kinda tough with all the densely populated wights; nonetheless, it is a far shorter path, making it less likely something will go wrong. That said, if you prefer, you can use the counter-clockwise path. Both will get you there.
